As far as I’m concerned, anyone who’s enjoyed my work enough to decide to follow my blog is a friend I haven’t had the chance to meet in person yet. I’ve made some of my best and dearest friends on blogs and forums over the years, and I couldn’t survive without you, so thanks.
I think that my friends deserve nice things to happen to them, which is why I’m marketing my books a bit differently here. As you know, I’ve been planning for this moment for a long time, so a lot of books are going up at once, which is how Kindle marketing works, because who wants to really enjoy a book and then have to wait a year for another one? Not me, that’s for sure…
Another way that Kindle works is that I can run a promotion once every ninety days where I can discount the books down to ninety-nine pence for seven days. It doesn’t sit right with me to let you all pay the full price, so from now on I shall alert you to books when they go on special offer.
My cunning plan is to do one a week, so you can collect them gradually and other people will, I hope, see them, be prepared to take a chance, and then come and join us here.
That’s going to start at midsummer. Till then, here’s a picture of my gorgeous cat Willow because there aren’t enough happy things in the world. He inspired my book 'The Christmas Sparrow' when he brought in a sparrow on New Years Day and let it loose in the house, where it flew up into our Christmas tree and refused to move for a couple of hours. Oddly, he did it again last week just before I started revising that book, but I don't think the world's ready for a series of books about a hunting cat who brings couples together by bringing them live mice and birds!
