One that’s mostly about writing!

On the eighth of May, I shall have been publishing books on Kindle for four years.

In that time, I’ve published 118 books, most of which I wrote during my time as a carer. Don't worry, I’m not going to bore you with a list, but you will be able to find one on ‘Tia’s Simple Pleasures’ and “Welcome to the Shadows’ which is about the books I write as Eleanor Neville, some of whose characters have started popping up in Amy's world.

Both my blogs have had a massive rebuild to reflect everything I’ve learned. I’m also in the process of doing all sorts of things to my book listings to make prices uniform and the information better, so please bear with me if things look a bit odd for a while

I’ve got lots of bright ideas about how I’m going to improve before I have my writer’s day party on the eighth of May with a Q & A session along with a new addition to the blog, but there’ll be more about that as we get closer to the big day As usual, if you've any bright ideas, please contact me using the form at the bottom of the home page.

One of the improvements is to tell you more about upcoming books, so here goes.

On Thursday, March 5th, I’m releasing a new book in the Amy Hammond series It's called 'On Sea and On Land.' It’ll cost £2-99 or be free to Kindle Unlimited readers and here’s a glimpse of the plot.

“Spring is coming to Dorset. So is a mysterious conference and a trail of corpses. Avid crafter and reluctant sleuth and spy Amy Hammond can't see why this should have anything to do with her or her husband, not as retired as he'd like to be spy Peter Cunningham, but his old bosses want him back so badly that they're prepared to send a Lieutenant Colonel to cat sit.

At least Peter has his usual team, with the addition of Guy and Sarah Stannard from Kim Kinsella's department, which is so secret that it's known as the Shadows. There are still more corpses and more attempts at murder until help comes from the last place she'd have expected it to.

Can they put right as much as they can? Is Amy happy about what she's becoming? And will she ever get any time to do some sewing?

Here’s a picture of the cover, and I hope you enjoy it. And, in case you’re interested, the shadows I refer to have their own series, which I write as Eleanor Neville, so if you want to know more about Guy and Sarah you’ll find them in ‘Fallen Angel’, which is the first book in the series.

It’s been wet here, so I’ve been busy with this new project while editing the summer short story collection that’s going to be called ‘Fair Winds and Calm Seas.’ We had both of them on Wednesday while we watched the turnstones getting ready to head back to Canada. They put the Red Arrows to shame as they practised formation flying, and it was fascinating watching the lead bird constantly shifting before more than a hundred of them swooped down to the beach at low tide for a good feed. If you've got too much time on your hands you can see how many you can spot. If anyone really annoys me I'll have the picture made into a jigsaw puzzle!

Their leaving means spring is coming here, and winter is coming to Canada, so I hope my Canadian friends and readers enjoy seeing them coming back.

See you on Tuesday, and have fun till then.
