Lots of fresh air and a free face wash.

It’s Monday morning. The schools are on their half term holidays. The weather forecast is good. The weather, on the other hand, is wet. Not as wet as last week, when I got so wet that I actually dripped. Thankfully, it didn’t start to rain properly till we got home and not heavily till we were getting the washing in. We couldn’t see Corfe Castle as we walked along the edge of the Harbour and down to Turks Lane, though and that’s never a good sign.

There was lots and lots and lots of fresh air, smelling of salt and seaweed and all of it blowing in my face. There were birds flying. Crows washing in deep puddles, pied wagtails and robins and a murmuration of starlings that I could see from my bedroom window. There were a lot of swans on the lake, which again isn’t a good sign because it means that they have come in from the Harbour. The Brent Geese, who migrate to us each winter haven’t arrived though so it won’t get properly cold yet. Instead, it was just cold enough to be glad of my padded waterproof jacket over a long sleeved t-shirt and glad too to be at home and about to have my coffee and gingerbread mummy. I mean, who wants a gingerbread man at this time of year? Not when a mummy is more fun!

So now I’m indoors and I shall be back to Amy in a lovely May when it’s just warm enough to be pleasant with a cardigan and Swansmere is busy with a Regency Fair over four weekends. There’s so much research to do, which makes it more fun still, and I’m planning the sewing projects that Amy will make, all ready to sew along with her. This one will be out next September, and doesn’t that seem a long time away?

Till then, this weeks special offers are at 99p in the UK and 99c in the States and they’re all six of the Lavender House series, which is a romance series, aided and abetted by a ghost on a mission, and part of that mission is to stop people making the mistakes that pride and anger made her make. She’s a bit like the matchmakers in Jane Austen, but with a few small advantages. Like being able to be invisible and untouchable, literally, and they seemed appropriate for Halloween!

Those books are

House of Dreams

Ghost of Dreams

Ghost of A Chance

A time to fight

Sunshine and Shadow

Love Always

So have a happy week, and I’ll look forward to catching up on Sunday.

Today’s picture is a grey view over my beloved Poole Harbour. I love it in all its moods, but you might enjoy appreciating it from indoors with a nice hot drink and a biscuit because it was seriously windy. Please note, it wasn't taken in black and white!
