Birthdays, books and plans…

I planned to go out for 2 long walks when the children went back to school, so, of course, it rained. Never mind, because I’ve ticked off all the jobs on this stage of my revamping of our room, including the new cat beds. As soon as I put them down, there were cats on them, because they’re built like sofas so they can sit and look out of the window and enjoy the sunshine without worrying about the wind.

Amy will definitely be doing some counted cross-stitch again soon because I’m enjoying it so much. I’ve got lots of ideas for the summer one, so all going well I’ll start that on Monday. Till then, I’m finishing the spring one, which features conservation, old school enemies and someone who’s strayed in from my Oldcastle series and looks as if he’ll be staying around.

Did you enjoy the Lucy Williams that came out on Thursday? I do enjoy writing her domesticated, dangerous world because she is so vulnerable and yet so tough. The series are linking together nicely, and the one I’m working on at the moment ended up with the opportunity to drown a delivery driver. Fictionally, of course, but we have been having problems recently. It brings the neighbourhood together as we exchange parcels though, which I suppose is good for community spirit.

I am NOT going out for any walks this week. Definitely not. Absolutely not. Let’s see if that works as well as planning does with the weather. Till then, have fun, and we’ll meet again on Tuesday.

Today’s picture shows a black cat whose expectations have been met, at least for now. Here’s hoping we’ll all be that lucky.
