It was a beautiful spring morning when I took that picture. You can see the sky, and the life preserver where a seagull was posing photogenically, and I just wanted to catch the moment.

The seagull had other ideas, just like life so often has, but when I looked at it, once I’d thought ‘oh dear’ or words to that effect, it made me smile, so I thought I’d share it as a brief reminder that things that don’t work out right away often still come out well and that it doesn’t do to take things too seriously, especially with the world the way it is at the moment.

I’m doing this early because it’s our fortieth wedding anniversary on Sunday, which is blog post day, and I intend to spend it pampering my husband and carrying on living our version of happy now because we don’t want to think about endings. I hope you all have happy weekends too, but maybe don’t try to make it too perfect?

Oh, and here’s a picture that did work. It’s not as much fun, is it? See you on Tuesday.
