Finished at last...

I’m sorry that this week’s post is late, but I wanted to finish this quilt so I could show it off because I’m so pleased with it. The teacups have been embroidered with some variegated threads that I’d had for years and the fabric came from a trip to Wales before my daughter was born.

That’s the thing about quilting that appeals to me as much, oddly as it appeals to Amy Hammond in my cosy mystery series. You fall in love with an idea, and you dream for years and then, eventually, you make it happen. I love the quilt block I used, and I love blue and white quilts and blue work embroidery, so I added my own twist with the variegated thread and it comes complete with happy memories of sitting in the garden with my daughter last summer and sewing.

So what are your happy memories?
